A capacity building training was delivered for agricultural experts from Addis Ababa

A two day training was organized by PELUM Ethiopia in collabration with  Addis Ababa city administration, farmers and urban agriculture development Commission for experts representing different sub-cities on the horticultural crops production, vermi-composting and waste management from  25-26 February, 2022. the training was held at a nursery site and training center owned by the commission, located at woreda 10,yeka sub-city.     

The purpose of the training was; to enhance the capacity of experts through practical trainings  and experience sharing visits, to familiarize and create awareness on horticultural production based on agroecological practices, knowledge transfer on the production of vermicomposting. the training consisted theoretical, and practical sessions as well as field visits. the two day training covered the topics on production of different vegetables and highland fruits, pruning and grafting of apple and avocado fruit trees, how to transform the the organic waste material in to useful ingredient through vermicomposting as well as avoid waste materials.
